As part of our celebration of International Literacy Day on September 8, 2021, RAP, in partnership with Rex Education, would like to invite you to join us in a webinar forum entitled “Meaning Making Literacy: Teaching Criticality” with Dr. Jose Lalas and Dr. Heidi Strikwerda from the University of Redlands, California, USA. Our live session will be on  September 11, 2021, Saturday from 9- 11 am PH time (September 10, 6 – 8 pm California  time).

Turning Gold with RAP

Turning ‘gold’ with RAP is essentially what happened to me. For literally, I was born on the same year as this association. As RAP turned 50 last year, I also turned half a century of existence. It is a year of jubilee – planned for more than a year with excitement and devotion by our luminaries and the current board. However, the pandemic struck the whole world which brought us locked down in the confines of our homes. Our grand plan is not what the greater scheme has willed for us for the game changer called COVID-19 devastated our plans.

RAP is the only professional organization of teachers of literacy in the Philippines. It has been in existence since 1970, and it is the national affiliate of the International Literacy Association. It organizes professional events to provide teachers with opportunities for growth in teaching reading and writing.
